So the title of my post might suggest I’m doing the most with this outfit—and maybe I might be—but who cares when you’re having fun and like the turnout. Working in different sectors of fashion for over a decade has taught me to live and let live. Fashion is fun and about self-expression. Sure there are some “rules” that I learned back when I took the Image Consulting program at The Fashion Institute of Technology. Those rules help when it comes to putting together amazing color combos or finding the best silhouettes for your body type–but when it comes to style? That’s all you, boo boo!
So this J. Crew skirt? SO mad I didn’t know about it sooner so I could snag it in the grey color it also came in. As I’ve been getting back to my typical weight (freelancing and blogging full time can take a toll on your body, yo!) I’ve experimented more with my style. To my core I’m pretty super casual when I get dressed—I found this out when I no longer had to wear suits or business casual clothing daily, but I do love experimenting more with things I typically might not wear. And I also love putting together things in my closet I may not have initially thought to put together—which is another reason why I love having less things in my wardrobe. It forces me to get creative instead of buying more clothes—I mean, I still buy a lot of new clothes but I buy less than I used to…lol.
