Guess what—ok, I kinda gave it away in the title so it’s not a surprise–but this is The Style and Beauty Doctor’s 1,000th post! Yay!
OK, well at least they ^^ are excited.
Anyway, this site has come a long way! Back in 2006 I started Urban Glamour, LLC, an image consulting company whose motto is “…because celebrities have personal stylists and makeup artists, so should you!“. I first started out posting a few blogs on my myspace blog, but soon decided I needed a bigger format. My first post was published on November 21, 2007 at myurbanglamour.blogspot.com. Soon after that myurbanglamour.blogspot.com became myurbanglamourblog.com and then finally thestyleandbeautydoctor.com. Despite the name changes, the focus remained the same—to provide fashion and beauty tips for women of all races, ages, and sizes. And here I am 1,000 posts in.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I put into making this site. As you may know, my day job is in commercial finance and I have about an hour and a half drive each way. Somehow I’m able to come home after a full day and put hours into posting–sometimes staying up way past my bedtime, but I do it because I LOVE it. This site has come a long way from the 20-40 hits a day (with about 90% of those hits coming from me checking my work) to the budding small empire it’s slowly becoming. I’ve battled writer’s block, html challenges, and theft *sigh* but I’m still here and dedicated to making this site the premier style & beauty resource for you all.
I’d like to thank all of you for your readership. Those of you that leave comments on a regular basis, those of you who email me, and those of you who lurk–I love you all!
As always, if you have a style or beauty question or have a suggestion about something you’d like to see here, contact me.
Congrats!
Thank you!
