I have quite a number of obsessions—makeup, clothes, shoes, accessories, and then of course skincare. I mean, sometimes I wish I could have like a second head or something so I could try out all the things my eye catches. o_O

Vitamin C is an essential antioxidant when it comes to skincare—it has brightening and skin tone evening properties, and can also ward off those pesky free radicals and fight the signs of aging especially when you add in grape seed oil and moisturizing Vitamin E. Oh, but add in Vitamin A (also known as retinol) and you also have a good combo for helping your skin go through its natural renewal process all smooth and silky like. The following were all key ingredients in Murad Essential C Night Moisture (received for review consideration) which is just one product in the Murad Essential C line which work together to help brighten the skin and keep it looking as young as possible. I only tried out the night cream because I’m a rebel like that and rarely use skincare products in a set. Sets are cool of course but I like to live on the edge. *pops collar*

See, told you I was a rebel. 90s rap and skincare go together, son!

ANYWAY, I’ve been using Murad Essential C Night Moisture every night for the last six weeks. I LOVE night creams because as I always say in my skincare posts, bedtime is SUPER important for your skin. It gets to rest from all the icky stuff in the environment that tries to get in and break it down all day and has time to renew itself. But as we get older (booooo) that process tends to slow down a bit (ditto in the winter) and we need to give the skin all kinds of goodies at night to help it be on its best behavior.

I don’t have any major skin issues right now—I do have a few dark spots I get from time to time from hormonal acne (thanks a lot, Mother Nature) and since I’m 31-ish I want to make sure I fight the long fight against Father Time. I liked that Essential C Night Moisture had enough moisture (I like my night creams to be a little heavier than my daytime moisturizers) but not overly so on my oily skin and that it has ingredients I like (see second paragraph). In fact this was suggested as a good night time moisturizer for someone with my skin profile by a Murad rep and boy was she spot on.

Bottom line: This is worth a try if you’re in your 20s or 30s and want a night time cream that will give you some ingredients to help better your skin and fight against aging. As always, I suggest getting a sample of new skincare from Sephora (they can pretty much let you sample anything in the store) before committing to a full-sized product.
