Sometimes I think deep down inside I change my hairstyle just so I have a new set of styling products to play with…lol. But after I took my weave out (lol—that sounds so vile), I had no idea of what I wanted to do with my hair. None. I definitely knew I’d need a haircut but not knowing how much my shaved side grew in (I could feel the kinks, but they were shrunken), who knew what kind of style I’d have. So I had my fave stylist Gabrielle Corney just cut it and put it in two French braids with the help of a pack of Marley hair (side note: I really liked how that Marley Hair looked like my own natural hair so I may do something with that later).
I contemplated a second big chop just to even out everything so my shorter side wouldn’t affect my right to thrive, but then decided I could tough it out. Plus when my hair was blown out, the shaved side is now around ear length so I can deal. My hair is now cut into an asymmetrical bob which I can work curly or straight. (I didn’t get pics of that part because it would have required damn near a full on photo shoot in the stylist chair…lol).
But anyway, I love these braids and I’m super excited about styling my new hair. I have a TON of styling products brands sent over the last few weeks that I’ve been dying to try so that’ll be fun.
I’ve already contemplated taking the braids down so I can do a roller set…lol.
Welp. Cheers to hair and unlimited choices ;)
Assymetrical bob? “Awww, Push It!” (I hope you are old enough to get that reference).
