Over the last four years I’ve worked from home—this meant that I went from wearing suits just about everyday to barely getting out of my pajamas before 3 PM. I’d get dressed of course on days when I had press appointments or other events, but I’d be in such a time crunch, I didn’t really have time to document what I wore unless I came across a good selfie mirror…lol. But I’m now trying this thing where I actually get dressed 2-3 times a week and work from my friend Nas of Nasilele Photography‘s studio in Brooklyn and this is the first of I’m hoping many more outfit posts to come (fingers crossed because a girl gets sleepy around 2 PM and needs her naps…lol). I’m also using this as a way to get more usage and inspiration from some of the stuff I have in my closet—it’s kinda like a long drawn out outfit directory similar to the one Cher had in Clueless.
So of course my first outfit had to include camo…lol. It’s one of my favorite prints—I love camo so much I got a jacket with the pattern on it confiscated as I entered Trinidadian customs. I also love that it goes with so much, too. Anyway, I picked up these cargo shorts from the men’s section at Old Navy a while ago but somehow misplaced them so thankfully they had the same style still in stock, so I ordered a new pair. They also have camo shorts in the women’s section, but they weren’t the look I was going for (shorter and not cargo style). I paired the look with this burnout tee from BCBGeneration (it has a split in the back that I forgot to get photographed) and these really colorful Asics sneakers from Lady Foot Locker (c/o). Shades are Celine “Shadow,” earrings from H&M, bracelet from Coach, and lipstick is MAC Ruby Woo.
I love pairing things that you wouldn’t normally put together—like such a girly top, hair, and makeup with the camo shorts and sneakers but that’s what I appreciate about my own style—it’s like it doesn’t take itself seriously…lol.
P.S. I’m wearing the Urban Decay Naked Skin liquid foundation here—it holds up so well even in humidity ;)

thanks, Joanne!!!
Love this look on you!!! I’ve wanted cargo pants for THE longest.
(P.S. I’m still trying to get those red sneakers too. LOL. The last place didn’t have my size. Ugh!)

Thanks!!! I found a pair of cargo pants from Victoria’s Secret maybe 3-4 years ago and really wish I bought a back up pair—they’re the perfect color and fit. I wear them so much I put holes in the crouch area (which I took to the cleaners to patch up…lol). It’s really hard to find the right fit and color for cargo camo pants and I wish VS or whoever would make more like the ones I love (seen here: https://www.thestyleandbeautydoctor.com/2013/02/yeah-its-an-outfit-post-yall/) :(
Lol fun pics! Let’s discuss how I lit just bought a camo shirt (jacket–I’m making it a jacket). But I really wanted shorts like these! Wanna trade?

Thanks! OMG—I have an Old Navy men’s shirt that I wear as a jacket. But um, see the way my camo thirst is set up—not gonna be able to trade…lol.
