Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was this Chicago Photo Diary…lol. For day two in Chicago, I put on my summer Canadian Tux (haha) and hit the town with my photographer (and long time homey) Nas from Nasilele Photography. And um, she took so many great pictures of me that I couldn’t decide which ones I liked most so my bad on the OD-ing. And there’s so many I have to do a Part 3 so stay tuned for that, too.
We first headed down to the Michigan Ave Bridge/DuSable Bridge because um, it’s gorgeous down there! Seriously, I could not stop staring at everything in Chicago from the skyline to the architecture to the food—it was like I live in some super small do-nothing town and not you-see-everything NYC…lol. I’m surprised I’m still able to move my neck because it was in perma-look up mode.
The area near DuSable Bridge has tons of little nooks and corners to take photos. I also played photog and snapped some pics of Nas.

Then we headed to visit photographer Audrey Woulard at her Chicago studio (I don’t even know an adjective big enough to describe how great her work is and how sweet she is) where Nas snapped these pics of me :)
Sunglasses: Celine | Sandals: Ipanema (so comfy and perfect for downtime from heels)
Audrey told us there was a really great alley nearby with a built-in “wind machine” (it was a pocket of space where the wind gathered—perfect for hair…lol) so we spent a ton of time there taking tons of pics. Also Chicago is filled with SO many amazing alleys. As a native New Yorker who remembers the 80s, I was quite hesitant about all of them—especially when we pulled up to Three Dots and a Dash in a cab through an alley—my inner New Yawker was like “UH, NO.” but I learned to tuck in my NYC and enjoy the alleys. During daytime. Supervised.
I should also really be ashamed of myself for posting so many of pretty much the same pic but I couldn’t decide…lol.

Yes, I look deranged here but oh wellS. haha
Then I decided I wanted to have a signature pose (just humor me) that I’d do every time I travel somewhere. It be against a colored wall and I’d do the “Danielle Pose.” I guess I inadvertently started it when I was in LA in June:
Yeah so the “Danielle Pose” (continue to humor me) is basically one leg kicked back against a wall with my arms folded around me. As so…
Don’t think I’m done with the Danielle Pose—there’s more coming in Part 3 of My Chicago Photo Diary so stay tuned ;)
So is that you the sailors are all crowded around?
