Anastasia Beverly Hills in further proving the brand is not just about brows, released 20 shades of liquid lipstick for their first step into the lip category. Anastasia Liquid Lipstick much like similar formulas from Stila, Hourglass, and Sleek MakeUP, gives you the ease of applying like a gloss but then almost like magic it dries down to a velvety matte right before your very eyes. I received four shades for review consideration from the brand’s PR.
So I really love these—I can’t wait for them to get into more stores so I can try out other shades like Potion, Heathers, and Vamp. The way the colors dry down to matte is so gorgeous and striking—which I feel looks best in the bolder colors. I initially only received Pure Hollywood and Milk Shake which are both really, REALLY light and unflattering on me but once I got Bloodline and Vintage, all was right again.
(Pure Hollywood and Milk Shake could be saved on deeper skin like mine if you want to add liner and maybe a gloss on top. I’m not a fan of light nudes especially not matte light nudes on me so I don’t even bother.)
Pure Hollywood: a light rosy pink
Milk Shake: a light carnation pink
Bloodline: a bold tomato red
Vintage: a bold purple
If you want to see more shades on dark skin, check out Makeup Doll’s video here.
My absolute fave shade out of these four is definitely Vintage—it’s SUCH a beautiful color and the matte texture just makes it all the more striking. Bloodline is also very beautiful.
Wear on these is amazing—especially with the deeper and brighter colors. You’ll notice the matte “layer” so to speak will fade after about 4-5 hours (this is with eating and drinking during that time) but even as it fades you’re still left with a good amount of color since it leaves a stain. That stain will linger on until you’re probably ready to take off all your makeup. Or you can reapply…lol.
Bottom line: I’m in love with Anastasia Liquid Lipstick–wear, color payoff (on the bolder shades), and quality are all hits. I’m looking at Neon Coral, Heathers, Potion, Vamp, and *maybe* Sad Girl (not sure if I like the shimmer on top or not…lol) once they hit more stores.
Price and where to buy: $20 each currently available at Macys.com and AnastasiaBeverlyHills.com (may be on backorder at time of me typing this).
I like the vintage and bloodline shades on you the best.
I love bloodline on you….idk, I think I’m over the whole liquid matte trend, there’s something about using a tube of lipstick lol

Thanks, Fancie!!!
What is the consistency like? Do they take long to dry and do they dry matte? Lawd, there’s so much going on the the world of liquid lipsticks!! LOL. Thanks for making it easier to tread.

Hey!
I answered most of your questions in the post. But they dry pretty quickly—within a few seconds of putting it on.
Thanks for reading!
Yes. Vintage! Where is SadGirl? Did I miss Sad Girl on you?

Hey Ellen!
All the ones I own are in this post and this one: https://www.thestyleandbeautydoctor.com/2015/03/anastasia-liquid-lipstick-in-vamp-poison-swatches-on-dark-skin/. I don’t have Sad Girl—sorry.
Okay! Went to Macy’s today and tried on Vamp. But I saw another shade, “Heathers” on youtube, and I think I like it more. I don’t usually do this but Jackie Aina has a channel where she tries on each and every shade.

She’s dark-skinned, too. But, honestly, I wish you’d try the “Heathers” shade. Your skin tone is so close to mine. It would help me to decide.
