The new NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation just launched boasting that all you need is one drop for each application, and boy they were NOT lying. I received shade Khartoum (which is a bit too dark and off in undertone for me) for review consideration and played around with it a bit.
So yes, you seriously only need one drop of this to cover your whole entire face. You can apply with your fingers although I suggest something like the beautyblender or a foundation brush. I’m normally shade Trinidad in NARS foundations (a nod to my heritage haha) but after the deepest shade was super light in the last NARS foundation release, I asked to be given the deepest shade. You can tell it’s off on me in the pictures but when I wore it around to test it, it didn’t look as off (but it’s off…lol). I’m going to try shade Trinidad once I get to a store or counter which is what I advise you guys to do when looking for a shade match (or look at swatches and see what you already own matches the most if you’re ordering online). It’s also very possible in one brand to have the same shade look totally different in different formulas—especially if something is water-based. This is why sometimes people are NW45 in one MAC foundation and then NW47 in others for example.
So back to NARS All Day Luminous.
Official info:
Francois’ entire philosophy about complexion is that skin should always look like skin. “Makeup should never hide the complexion, it should reveal who you are.”
The new innovative formula provides a full, natural coverage for a long wear, without the weight that most full-coverage foundations have. Because the technology is also highly pigmented, you only need one drop to do a full face application. The All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation comes in 20 beautiful shades and is clinically proven to last up to sixteen hours.
I definitely got all day wear from it and since it’s winter here in NYC, no issues with my skin looking too oily (I did have oil breakthrough to touch-up but nothing severe).
(Foundation on its own/after highlight, contour & blush)
But my makeup style has changed within the last year so I feel like I don’t do very many “simple” makeup looks anymore. I’m either completely bare faced or I’m doing highlighting and contouring—very seldom in between so I also added some highlight/contour to this foundation so it wouldn’t make me look so flat. The color is still off because Khartoum isn’t my shade like I mentioned already.
Bottom line: Great foundation, great performance—if you’re interested in trying like I always say with foundations, get a sample at Sephora and try it before you buy it.

I was waiting for a Nars post! Lol I went to Sephora last month looking for a concealer. That was my introduction to Nars. I actually for the first time ever had a perfect match. I wear This concealer everyday and since the weather has gone back to the 60s and 70s here (minus the past two days), I can now confirm it is good for oily skin. I didn’t try these foundations, but the concealers are perfection! The powder I’ve been using is Black Radiance, but I still haven’t found a perfect match. Its close enough though. I was going to buy the Nars foundation, but after this, I may keep looking elsewhere.
I’m going to test out this nars foundation.
So I purchased this in Macao. Wore it for the first time last night.
I live in South Florida, which is Spanish for “the 10th ring of hell” (in terms of the heat). There were women in the bathroom at the party I was at who were shining and having to blot. Not the kid. I feel asleep in my makeup (don’t judge me, judge the patron shots…) and I woke up looking like I was ready to head right back out. I still wasn’t shining and my skin was smooth the to the touch. Didn’t rub off on my pillow at all. Hated washing it off.
