The other day I went to Target for what I don’t remember but I left with a bag of makeup to review for the blog…lol. I’ve always thought Black Radiance products were really a good bang for your buck but I don’t often see new products launches from the brand—or much of a social media presence if I might add. But they do pretty decent quality makeup at steal prices very well so we won’t judge…lol. But yeah, I picked up a few things including Black Radiance Custom Concealer.
Official description:
Provides two shades of concealer that allows you to custom match your problem areas. Delivering moderate to full coverage that glides on silky smooth, these concealers rise to the challenge of stubborn dark circles, blemishes and discoloration.
I picked up all three shades offered at my Target but looking at the Black Radiance site there appears to be four shades and they are named different things than the ones I bought in store. Yeah, I don’t know—I’m just reporting on what I see—I don’t know why the things are the way they are…lol.

Here’s the shades I got…
Fair to Light
Light to Medium
Darkest

All three have undertones that lean towards golden which is perfect for canceling out darkness especially under the eyes. Your shade will be 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone. Darkest was the closest to my match (see what foundation and concealer shades I wear here) but I had to use the darkest shade in that one for under my eyes as a “brightening” concealer. It’s too light if I wanted to cover a spot on my chin or forehead but it’s perfect for my under eye area. It *looks* like there might be a deeper shade according to the Black Radiance website, but I can’t for sure tell what’s what from the computerized swatches. If I were to match the numbers up, 8014 Darkest is Walnut on the BR site; 8016 Light to Medium is Light to Medium on the BR site; 8011A Fair to Light I’m not sure because there’s no 8011A on the site. The numbers don’t even seem to go in the right order from lightest to darkest shade. SO confusing.
But beyond that, I did actually like the performance of this concealer. I had very minor creasing issues after about seven hours—it was faint though nothing to seriously complain about. The texture was really smooth and they blend easily either with your fingers, a concealer brush, or my fave beautyblender. I set with Cover FX Matte Setting Powder, but you can set with practically any setting powder you have in your stash.
Bottom line: Great budget full coverage cream concealer. If you’re on a budget and happen to fit one of the shades, this is a good buy.
Price and where to buy: about $6 each. See the Black Radiance site for store locations.
I always pick this up and put it back. Lol Idk why. I think I may take the plunge next time though. The results look pretty nice for the price! The color looks like a great match and the finish looks super natural
I really like Black Radiance for it’s quality and affordability. I’ve been eyeing Black Radiance True Complexion Custom Concealer for a while. I’ll definitely buy it get it now. Thank you for the review!
