You know, sometimes with spring-y/summer-y lip colors you get all bark and no bite. Like the color is barking all loud in the tube but NO bite to be had when you put it on your lips because it’s all sheer and womp womp-y. The three shades I received for review consideration of LORAC Cosmetics summer 2015 Alter Ego Lip Gloss is all bark AND all bite. Gorgeous semi-opaque color that suits a wide range of skin tones.

I received shades Show Girl (described as watermelon), Free Spirit (described as plum but looks more like a lavender shade to me but it’s SOOOO wearable unlike other lavender-looking shades I’ve seen) and Vixen (described as fuchsia).

(don’t get spoiled by these swatches…lol. These are stills from my latest Youtube video which was filmed on a camera much fancier and expensive than mine)
I loved that these weren’t sticky and provided a nice semi-opaque coverage. These don’t claim to be long-lasting so it’s hard to really judge wear but I’d say they last about as long as the average gloss (about 3-4 hours) and you’ll definitely need to touch-up especially as you eat and drink. The formula feels very comfy on the lips and I’d even go so far as to say my lips felt moisturized while wearing it.
I featured these in my recent Spring Lip Color Ideas for Dark Skin video on my Youtube channel and really love the colors for spring and summer especially as a departure from the deeper matte shades I usually wear.
Bottom line: I love these especially these colors (I haven’t seen the others though so can’t compare). The colors aren’t that unique compared to other brand glosses so if you have similar shades with similar opacity (remember these are semi-opaque so you get really good color payoff) you can pass. Otherwise I think these are a good buy.
Price and where to buy: $15 each at ULTA.com (plus 6% cash back when you use eBates), ULTA, and loraccosmetics.com.
Girl you look gorgeous! And your skin is just glowing too. I love it! These glosses are very pretty though. All of them looks good on you but I’m really digging Free Spirit. That’s one pretty purple!
