After attending The Makeup Show blogger preview, we got bags filled with products many of which are makeup artist faves, debuted at the show, and are new and hot. My bag had a number of NYX Cosmetics items including three lip colors: NYX High Voltage Lipstick in Twisted, NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Napoleon, and NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen.
NYX High Voltage Lipstick
Official description:
Amp up your look with our High Voltage lipstick! Each of the 22 dramatic shades is infused with vibrant color with a super-rich finish!
OK—I need to check out the rest of the shades. The formula is like a hybrid between a creamy lipstick and opaque gloss. It’s so creamy and shiny. Twisted is such a beautiful bright violet—because it’s in this finish the color is even more striking.
NYX Intense Butter Gloss
Official description:
Smother your lips with a silky gloss bursting with color! Our Intense Butter Gloss has the same mouth-watering texture and scent of the original formula with even more color payoff in 12 new delectable shades.
OK—butter gloss is the PERFECT name for these. It actually feels like soft butter spread gliding on your lips (but WAY less fattening…lol). Napoleon is described as a bright tea rose pink and is a pretty pinky color that looks amazing on a wide range of skin tones.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
Official description:
Neither lipstick nor lip gloss, this matte lip cream is a new kind of lip color that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing.
These are similar to the Intense Butter Gloss but it dries down to a matte finish but not a super dry matte—almost like a full coverage lip stain and so comfy on the lips. Copenhagen is described as a rich matte plum.
Wear on all three are pretty average. The High Voltage Lipstick does tend to fade while eating and drinking as does the Intense Butter Gloss—they lose the shine first and then the color stays on (the brighter and deeper colors I’m sure last longer due to their pigmentation). The Soft Matte Lip Cream isn’t the longest lasting matte color I’ve tried but because it’s so comfy and smooth, it gets a pass.

Bottom line: These are amazing and I SO need to check out more shades of the High Voltage Lipstick. If I do, I’ll be sure to post swatches. But these are all worth a try.
Price and where to buy: NYX High Voltage Lipstick $6 each; NYX Intense Butter Gloss, $6 each; NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, $6 each. See nyxcosmetics.com for in-store locations both in the US and international.
All are nice!
I love all of these! I have so many of all them lol. I need to get my hands on Twisted though. It’s just always sold out
