I like to get pictures of unused product, but forgot to take pics of this before I tested it :(
Another day, another contour palette…lol. This time we’re discussing the NYX Cosmetics 3C Conceal Correct Contour Palette in Deep (received for review consideration).

Official description:
Color-match your skin using our perfecting and correcting palettes to conceal, correct or contour. With six shades to choose from in each set, you can cover up problem spots, even out imperfections and accentuate your best features in a flash. Use these buildable colors on their own or combine them to create the ideal tone.
The NYX Cosmetics 3C Conceal Correct Contour Palette comes in three variations: Light, Medium, and Deep. I got the Deep. There’s six shades and I’d probably at most use three of them. The other three shades (on the left side) are too light for anything I’d even try to use them for. I’d use the other three shades on the right. The highlight is a golden deep tan color that is very close to what I normally would like to highlight with. The contour shade is VERY red but still deep enough for me to contour (see what shades I wear in other foundations here). I still liked the effect but on me it worked more like what a bronzer does (warming the skin) as opposed to most contour shades I use that have more of a cooler or neutral undertone. Of course the way it comes out on you may vary based on your skin tone and undertone. I haven’t used the orange shade but if you’re around my complexion, it’s used to correct darkness—particularly under the eyes or on dark spots.

The concealers/contours perform well. They blend easily and lasted all day on me—even in the summer heat. I set it with the NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette (I’ll be reviewing it soon, too).
So my only gripe is that no matter who gets this kit, there will be shades you won’t use unless you’re a makeup artist OR if you like to mix shades together throughout the year as you tan mix and match to customize your concealing and contouring experience. Contour kits are great but sometimes a girl wants to be able to pick the shades she needs.
Wearing the Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush I tested and reviewed here. Wearing so much so that it would show up in pics so you can see it.
Bottom line: Great performing palette. You might have some shades you won’t use though and there’s a chance you might feel like the palette is a little small (I got around it because I use Ashunta Sheriff’s Perfect Blend brush and it fits in perfectly).
Price and where to buy: $11.99 at ULTA (currently BOGO 50% off) plus 3% cash back when you use eBates. See more locations at NYX Cosmetics.
I’ve had this for months now and completely forgot about it lol. It looks like a nice palette though. I didn’t even realize how light the shades on the left were. The other shades look pretty decent though. I gotta dig mine up and use it soon!
Thanks for the review Danielle! Looking to get into color correcting now that I think I’ve got concealing down. If you have suggestions for any other correctors I’d appreciate it much!
I know you’ve reviewed a few in the past should I just search for corrector or correct on your site?

Hey Bukky!
There’s this post: https://www.thestyleandbeautydoctor.com/2009/04/eye-makeup-concealer-101/. Typically with women of color, we’d need something honey toned to cover things like dark spots and dark under eye circles. You put color correctors on first and then apply your foundation and the rest of your makeup. But sometimes you might just be able to get away with a regular concealer with a honey or golden undertone.
There’s also this post where I explain why I highlight and contour that also goes into why it’s a great option for WOC since we tend to be more than one color on our faces: https://www.thestyleandbeautydoctor.com/2014/02/highlight-and-contour-on-dark-skin/
Hope this helps!
Hmmm…not sure if this is enough to move the needle but your review was definitely helpful! I was hoping the lighter shades would be more golden. Would you say the peachy one could be used effectively as a color corrector for hyperpigmentation? (I’m a teeny bit lighter than you, for reference. With mild acne scarring, ugh!)
