OK—so I’ve started doing these “quick reviews” because sometimes there doesn’t need to be a ton said about a product. Plus I’m backed up on reviews and don’t want to be…lol. No but for real, not every product needs a whole lengthy dissertation. Sometimes you can get the gist in a few short paragraphs :)
So I picked up this MUA Makeup Academy Nude Eyeshadow Palette on a recent CVS run out of sheer curiosity. I hadn’t heard of the brand and they had a sizable display so I figured I’d get acquainted with an eyeshadow palette. I’m LOVING that more drugstore brands are doing palettes by the way—a quad isn’t enough all the time…lol.
ANYWAY, I was VERY pleasantly surprised that these are really pigmented and had great wear—I test all eyeshadows without a primer and many start to disappear after an hour or so but these stayed on long and strong for about five hours. And even after those five hours it still looked good—just VERY little (like a teeny itty bit) of creasing. The packaging is all sleek and cool, too.
I was also happy that it rang up for about $10 because the sticker said something like $14.99 on it.
My only gripe is there are three shades I probably wouldn’t use much because they’re so light (although I could use them as bases and layer another color on top). But other than that, we’re cool. I’ll have to check out their other palette options—I’m especially looking at the Smoky Eye Palette.
Bottom line: MUA Makeup Academy Nude Eyeshadow Palette has shades that’ll work on most skin tones (though the three lighter shades can be a little tricky on darker skin like I mentioned above) and it has really great quality, too and a nice price.
Price and where to buy: about $14 at CVS. (in the UK you can get this at Superdrug)
This actually looks like a pretty nice palette. Glad to know their shadows are good quality. I’m gonna be on the lookout for them now whenever I go to CVS lol
Jus got the palette today, so lookin fwd to see how it fares. The pkg is also nice, & gives the palette a more high end look.
