Me at Las Cajas National Park in Cuenca, Ecuador—you can see how cold and windy it is because of the tears in my eyes…lol
Heyyyyy ya’ll!!!
I’m back from Ecuador! I MISSED you guys!!! I had SO much fun the last week—I did so much that it felt like I was there for three months…lol. I’ll tell you (and show you) so much more from my trip to Ecuador but wanted to come back from my week-long blog hiatus with some BEAUTY! Of course ;)
I was super surprised to come home to it still being very mild in NYC for this time of year. The weather in Quito and Cuenca was also pretty interesting—in areas of higher altitude (at some points I was over 13,000 feet above sea level) you could feel all four seasons in one day. And when it got cold—it got COLD. Our last night in Cuenca was spent at the lovely Dos Chorreras Resort at Cajas National Park—it was a gorgeous resort with a breathtaking mountainous view (we were about 13,000 feet above sea level) and beautiful accommodations, but it was SUPER cold. I’m talking hat, scarf, gloves, and bubble jacket cold. Our rooms were nice and toasty though but we all know what can happen when you go from the cold outdoors to the heated indoors—dry skin. This is where the beauty comes in :)
Vaseline is launching the Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Jelly Cream and gave yours truly a chance to check it out and share my thoughts with you before it officially hit stores. Mine came in fun packaging along with some jellies and jams—yummy, plus you get the whole idea with the jelly, right? Right.
What I love about Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Jelly Cream is that it’s infused with vitamin E, keeps skin moisturized for 18 hours and is a rich, smooth cream, but isn’t heavy at all and absorbs instantly. This was perfect for long days in Ecuador so areas like my hands, elbows, and heels were protected when I was in cold temps at higher altitude and didn’t feel all heavy when I was in lower altitudes where the weather felt more tropical. Plus it’s unscented so it didn’t compete with my favorite fragrances.
I’m looking forward to using it once real winter starts to show its ugly face in NYC. My skin gets REALLY dry and itchy in the winter so it’s also good to know that Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Jelly Cream is also the recipient of the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance and is suitable for sensitive skin. It’s also hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores.
I know I sound hyped about this (lol) but one of the things I despise the most about winter (besides having to shovel snow) is super dry skin, so I’m always on the lookout for good moisturizers for my skin. And it’s great that this one is only about $7.99 and is available at food, drug, and mass retail outlets.

Totally picking up some of that Jelly Cream… like today!
Oooo sounds like I need to try this! The cold weather is really starting to stick here in Michigan and it’s already affecting my skin. I love that it’s good for sensitive skin too because I’ve been struggling with eczema over the past year and need all the moisture I can get lol
I don’t use Vaseline at all. I don’t like the effects of mineral oil on my body. So I’ve had good success with oils, beeswax and something known as the unpetroleum jelly. I don’t like ashy either and I’m no longer ashy.

Great that you’ve had success—I do use Vaseline and haven’t had any issues with any products over the decades of using them.
Thanks for this. I have the same issue whenever winter comes, so I will be getting this. My Nivea isn’t cutting it. :-(
