I wanted the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette from when news of it first hit the internet MONTHS ago. I LOOOOVE my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and it’s the rare palette I own that I can use ONLY that palette and get a complete eye makeup look. So I felt like I NEEDED Sweet Peach. And when the launch had me and like thousands of other beauty fiends like me doing stake-outs by our computers and phones to snag one online, I realized just how crazy I can be with something I want and perceive to be very hard to get.
I mean, I was up at all hours of the night waiting for it and refreshing my computer screen. I’d miss it when it launched on TooFaced.com, missed the restock, missed it on HSN.com, missed it on ULTA TWICE. And the more I missed it, the more I wanted it. I’m too old for this yo…lol.
But when it was launching on Sephora.com I was READY. Actually I was RED-TEE which sounds much more ’bout it than “ready” lol. Except NO ONE knew what time they were going to hit the Sephora site. I kept shifting from my blog page to social media to Sephora.com checking to see when that sucka would launch. After a bit I just got ready for the gym because I have things to do (no I don’t…lol) and just before I was about to hit the door I decided to go back and refresh the screen ONE MORE TIME and lo and behold it was live. I put that thing in my shopping cart with the QUICKNESS.
Except my Sephora.com password (which Chrome should have saved) wasn’t working and the email recovery thing was taking WAY too long. So I started a new profile because look, I was in it to win it. Only thing is I didn’t get free VIB Rouge shipping with the new profile so I quickly added the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette to my cart to make up for the difference and quickly checked out. SMH
Then when they finally came I rolled my eyes so HARD. I swear they didn’t look much different from the Chocolate Bar palette I already own. I mean YES, obviously there are visual differences but a lot of the neutrals which all the palettes are heavily comprised of, seemed similar to me. I was kicking cans and what not (no I wasn’t…lol) because after all I’d been through, these palettes were looking similar-ish.
Then I skipped town (I wasn’t that distraught—I had a planned trip…lol), left the palettes here at home, came back and looked at them again. They’re still pretty similar-ish with of course the exceptions of the accent shades but my makeup junkie behind definitely justified keeping the two new additions.
The Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette is peach-scented but I don’t like the scent. They kinda smell like peach versions of those little strawberry candies everybody’s grandma had in her candy dish back in the days. It thankfully doesn’t carry after you apply and I didn’t have to leave the palette near a window to air out the apartment…lol.
Quality is amazing—I could wear the shadows from this palette without a primer and it lasted through my day (a little over 8 hours) without creasing or fading. Of course as I always say with eyeshadows, make sure you wear a primer or base to ensure day-long wear without creasing or fading.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette contains a good amount of warmer-toned shades and neutral-y toned neutrals. It’s a mostly universally flattering palette—a majority of the shades will look great on all skin tones but there are a few some people may not use much if at all (for me that would be shades like White Peach and Peaches N’ Cream).
I do think that the neutral shades in Sweet Peach, Chocolate Bar, and Chocolate Bon Bons are similar-ish (they aren’t the exact same—I’m not saying that they are at all but they’re not vastly different either) but what makes them differ are the accent shades. I like Sweet Peach and won’t return it like I was initially thinking when I first got it and hadn’t touched it yet, but I don’t think it was as much of a must-have as I felt throughout the process of trying to get it. I mean seriously, I even put my friends through a lot and had them on the case for me (my bad, Nas…lol).
I just hope this isn’t the new landscape for buying beauty—my blood pressure can’t be taking all this pressure to get this stuff…lol. Too Faced will aways have a place in my heart for naming me one of their first Beauty Bloggers of the Month back in the day, but I swear they better not murmur not one word about another limited edition palette. Because what I’m not gonna do is do this again.
OK, yes, I will. SMH.

I missed swatching Pecan Praline and Cafe Au Lait (my bad).
I’ll do a separate review post on the Chocolate Bon Bons palette later. You can see my review and comparison of the Chocolate Bar and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palettes here.
Bottom line: I do like the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette—pretty colors, good quality, universally flattering—I don’t think you *NEED* it and do believe you will survive if you miss out on it. I kinda feel like the brand owner owes me a cocktail or dinner or something after all I went through for this palette…lol.
Price and where to buy: $49 at Sephora (use the in-store locator to find it near you) but also try Ulta and HSN sites as well as Ulta stores. It’s limited edition (this is what they’re saying now—who knows if they’ll decide later to make it permanent) so that’s pretty much what drove a lot of the hype IMO.
That was a lot. After seeing the photos though I’d probably get the Chocolate Bar instead of Sweet Peach. Thanks for the review!

You’re welcome!!!
I hate you had to go through so much to get this palette but this post was hilarious lmao. I couldn’t understand why the Sweet Peach Palette was getting so much hype because in pictures it looked really boring to me. Then I seen it in person and had to buy it immediately lol. It is very similar to both of the Chocolate Bar palettes but I like that Sweet Peach has more crease shades suitable for WOC. Candied Peach, Puree, Summer Yum, Charmed I’m Sure and Delectable has made this a palette I can reach for everyday. I think I like it more than Semi-Sweet

Haha! The things we do for makeup…lol.
GREAT point about Sweet Peach having more crease shades for WOC. You’re SO right about that—it really does.
I have been wanting the Sweet Peach palette and am so happy to see it swatched. I have the original Chocolate Bar and I barely use it.

OMG how can you have the original Chocolate Bar and not use it much?!?!?! (rhetorical question…lol) I use that thang ERR time I do my makeup…lol.
Mannn listen! The shenanigans of getting this palette was REDAMNDICULOUS! I finally got it and now I’m like meh. I’ve enjoyed the other 2 chocolate palettes. The mix of shades in this palette just don’t move me. Plus I know I have similar shades already. Plus the Nubian palette I picked is the BIDNESS and it’s mainly warmed toned and half the price. So I’m really leaning towards returning it.

RE-DAMN-DICULOUS!!!!!! I need to check out that Nubian Palette—everyone keeps talking about it.
I fell out laughing at the “little strawberry candies everybody’s grandma had in her candy dish” line! My mother would have some in a plastic baggie to give to the grandbabies at church. They called them “purse candy” :)

lmaoooo! OMG I remember the “purse candy” term…lol.
Ooh I wish I discovered this page before I went and bought the palette! I know I should’ve went with chocolate bar ???? I’m a newbie & have no idea what I’m doing lol but this story was hilarious! Do you have you own personal blog I can subscribe to? Much love!
