Heyyyy, ya’ll!
So as I reported earlier, Gold Label Cosmetics (they’re a vegan, indie, Black woman-owned makeup company) recently launched their new Matte Lip Pens. You can see the inaugural launch of their classic lipstick line with swatches on yours truly here. Gold Label Cosmetics sent over a few shades for review consideration.
And they might be some of the best liquid lipsticks (along with Stila’s) that I’ve ever tried. I sometimes have a love-hate thing with liquid lipsticks. Yeah, they’re long-lasting and the color payoff is great, but some of them can make it feel like you put glue stick on your lips and then after wearing it out for a few hours your lips feel DRYYYYYY. Not these! Gold Label Cosmetics Matte Lip Pens were so comfy on that I forgot I had lip color on HOURS after applying.
I also like the click-pen applicator but it can be a little tricky so remember that a little product goes a long way or you’ll have a mess on your hands. I’d suggest using a little bit at a time and use the applicator to glide the color on your lips and then add additional product if needed. If you go full in with product, it’ll get everywhere and you’ll waste your precious Matte Lip Pen.
Wear is beyond incredible—in fact even after using cleansing oil and washing my face in the shower, I STILL had to go back with some extra cleansing oil (or a makeup wipe) to remove the remaining product on my lips. And like I already mentioned, you can go through the whole day wearing these and feel like you have nothing on. I’m quite the snacker and even through several meals and drinks throughout the day, I only need to do minor touch-ups.
(Only wearing the Gold Label Cosmetics Matte Lip Pen in these—no liner. I was swatching a ton of different lip colors when I took these pics so my blush is way more intense than it’d normally be)

Bottom line: Gold Label Cosmetics Matte Lip Pen is an amazing liquid lipstick product—wears very well, is super comfy on the lips, and doesn’t feel dryyyy like some liquid lipsticks can. Just go easy on the dispensing of the product—a little goes a long way or you’ll wind up making a mess—other than that, these are some of the best liquid lipsticks I’ve tried.
