Happy first Wear to Work Wednesday post of the new year! These colder months can be tough because you might be super tempted to forsake looking fashionable for being warm. But what if I told you that you could do…BOTH?!?!
Yup, with layering, of course! Light, sheer layering can do a lot for keeping you warm without making your outfit look bulky and subject to a pat down from office security. Make sure your second layer is presentable in case you need to peel off your top layer if the heater gets a little overzealous (though I doubt it if office environments are anything like the ones I worked in back when I was in the corporate world…lol).
And I know the wrap sweater appears to be a bit scandalous, but you have to see what it looks like on a person here. It’ll typically fall below the waistline so you’re not showing off your midriff, but it also looks good with a button down or a tee underneath for easy layering. Also the shoes should be switched out when you get to your desk if it’s too cold/slippery/whatever out to be trotting around in pumps. Although it was 24 degrees (and that was the high temp) just on Monday here in NYC and expected to be near 60 tomorrow. SMH.
What to wear underneath: J. Crew tissue tee, Uniqlo HeatTech leggings

Note about these Outfit Idea posts: I use Polyvore to create them and only use clothing that doesn’t have models wearing them and that are visually appealing. Sometimes the exact item isn’t available or is SO super ridiculous expensive. I’ll always put the exact item when available in the widget, but I also include other similar options—if the exact item isn’t available, please shop from similar items. I also try to include options in different sizes and price ranges when available.
YES to being cute AND warm, totally here for it! Its funny you mentioned the sweater, cause i surely was like, not in my office, but i was wrong lol.
