So this is a bit of a different kind of TSABD Edit. Normally I’d review a bunch of products that just came in, show you swatches, do a video demo, etc. This time around I’m talking about a bunch of beauty products I’ve finished. Now I’m testing this out—I’m not sure how effective a post of this nature would be (you’ll have to tell me if it helps you or not—be honest). Just because I didn’t finish a product doesn’t mean it’s not a good product. I am a recovering beauty junkie so I would buy a LOT of stuff because I lacked self-control (haha) and I also get a ton of product in from brands so there are products that are amazing but that I don’t get around to finishing because either it’s not something I need to use daily or because I have a gazillion others like it.
But I do see that “Products I’ve Finished” posts and videos are pretty common so I figured I’d stick another toe in. I’ve done one already here back in 2015.
So let’s get into this! OK, so there is still *some* product left in a few items pictured, but they will definitely be used up…lol. Click on any link to either shop the product or read more info on the subject.
Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser
Murad Advanced Acne & Wrinkle Reducer
Murad Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 30 PA+++
I used these three products together as they’re part of the Murad Anti-Aging Acne line. I’ve actually gone through both the cleanser and the acne & wrinkle reducer at least twice. I’ve had a few bad long-term cycles with adult acne which also resulted in me having the worst hyperpigmentation I’ve had in a decade which I’ve documented here. Also see my How to Get Rid of Dark Spots video here and read more posts on hyperpigmentation here.
I don’t always use this line since I cycle off when my adult acne has subsided, but I’ve recently put it back in my routine since I had some PMS-related breakouts. These were items originally sent to me by the brand, but I would definitely buy everything with my own money.
Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 PA++
This has been one of my long-time fave summer moisturizers. It helps keep my oily skin matte which in turns helps my makeup last longer when temps are high. (See How to Stay Beat in the Heat for tips on how to keep your makeup on when the weather heats up).
I’ve finished at least 6-7 of these since I first tried it. See more mattifying products of interest here.
boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil
I’ve probably finished and rebought this at least four times since I first tried it. I’ve tested a bunch of cleansing oils, but this has been my favorite for my double-cleanse routine.
COVER FX Total Cover Cream Foundation in N110
This is another product I’ve finished and re-upped at least 5 times or more. Love this because it’s a great color match for my skin, it gives a gorgeous skin-like finish, and is great with my oily skin. See how I use it in my foundation routine here.
I’m still going to swipe around until every inch of foundation is gone even though I have a brand new one waiting.
COVER FX Pressed Mineral Foundation in P125
I’ve been using this to sculpt and contour (typically you want something with a cool undertone to contour, but although this has a warm undertone, it also works out for me). See how I use it in my foundation routine here.
I’m still using it until every little fleck of powder is gone…lol.
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Golden
I’ve been using this to highlight since celebrity makeup artist Andi Yancy did my makeup for a photoshoot. I’ve gone through at least 3-4 of these since and have replenished several times whenever Bobbi Brown has their friends and family sale.
And yes, I will continue to swipe around the edges until I finish every last drop.
L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer in Brunette
This brow pencil goes HARD. I’ve finished up at least 3-4 of them since I first tried it. It seriously rivals Anastasia Brow Wiz—in fact I prefer it over Anastasia since the packaging is sturdier than what I had experienced with Brow Wiz. See how I fill in my brows here.
RoC Daily Resurfacing Disks
LOVE these cleansing disks and have in fact finished at least 3 of them since first trying them.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel with sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15
I LOVE this moisturizer. It’s very hydrating (with hyaluronic acid) yet SUPER lightweight on my oily skin. You can see this and more products with hyaluronic acid here.
Pantene Gold Series Moisture Boost Shampoo
Pantene Gold Series Repairing Mask
I was given the Pantene Gold Series collection a bit before the line officially launched. I’ve been using it for about 3-4 months now (see how I keep my 4C hair moisturized and my wash day routine here) and looooove it. I’ve since finished booth the Moisture Boost Shampoo and the Repairing Mask and will definitely reuse. See some SUPER EASY natural hair styles (an updo on an old twist out and a kinky ponytail) here.
NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Cocoa
I almost never re-buy powders because either I’m always trying new ones OR because I have a gazillion loose powders already in my stash. I finished and rebought this one though because it’s pressed so it’s easier for me to travel with AND less mess because I can tend to be a little clumsy sometimes. And it also does a great job of giving a matte finish without making me look casket sharp.
This broke when it was nearly done but I will still continue to use those last little bits until they’re gone even though I bought a new one the other day…lol.
So that’s that! Let me know in the comments if posts like this help you. Also while you’re there, tell me about any products you’ve finished and what you like about them!
P.S. I’m almost always testing new products to see what else is out there that I need to let you guys know about so even sometimes when I finish a product, I may not rebuy just because I’m trying something else out.
YES! This is very helpful! I enjoy a lot of your other reviews of products so this helps me see what you’re actually using up/repurchasing. I’ve been on the fence about that NYX powder but now I’m going to check it out. Thank you!

Heyyyy, MiMi!
Yay—glad you find it helpful! But also want to add that there are some great products I try that I don’t use up and in the case of the adult acne products I was using, I used those up and re-upped because I had a case of recurring adult acne that prompted so much usage. When I’m cycled off, I don’t use as much of the acne products. Hope that makes sense!
Yes, ditto on this being helpful!!! Especially since we’re around the same complexion. Thank you, Danielle!!!!
Love this ! I literally opened at least 5 tabs while reading this post. I definitely want to check out Pantene gold series and the NYX powder because I too am a little clumsy ! Please continue with this series!
This was extremely helpful. Your reviews are always super helpful, but the knowledge that these products, in particular, are ones that you go to again and again makes the case for trying them. I’m always looking for skincare products for my oily skin, and your recommendations have never led me astray. I second any motion to continue this series.
