Happy post-Thanksgiving, ya’ll!!!
How was your holiday? If you don’t celebrate, what do you typically do at family gatherings? I always look forward to Thanksgiving as a day where I get to be with my family and typically eat until I pop, but this year was even more special as I got to learn things about my family namely my mom that I didn’t know before. We laughed, we cried, we prayed, we gave thanks, and we ATE. It was the best Thanksgiving ever for me.
Which brings me to considering elastic waists as a rule rather than an exception…lol. I’ve gained about 20 pounds and while weight gain like that would normally make me feel frustrated, it didn’t really phase me this time around (look, in 2017 I had WAY more important things to be frustrated about…lol). The only thing that kind of pissed me off about the weight gain was that I have SO many cute clothes that don’t fit right now and my budget hasn’t always been setup this year where I could rebuy cute clothes. So I’ve been getting creative–okay, well actually I’ve mostly been wearing the same outfits over and over but now that it’s getting colder I can layer and really get creative. I bought this sequin skirt last year and it’s a piece I really love because it will never go out of style and I doubt I’ll get tired of wearing it. I love this time of year because there are so many festive pieces available to buy that I can also wear outside the holidays. Now, I’m not going to lie. Growing up I associated elastic waists with grandmamas and not necessarily a young, vibrant, fashionable thang much like myself. But the times have changed because mama wants to be cute and comfy…lol.
