Rolling out a ton of TSABD Edits this week on a count of I want to take a holiday hiatus but I have quite a number of products backing up over here. Urban Decay recently sent over twelve of the fourteen shades of the new Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer for review consideration.
So let’s get into it!
Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer Official description:
What it is:
An innovative, high-coverage concealer that provides buildable, weightless coverage and leaves an invisible, Naked Skin finish. What it does:
This concealer from Urban Decay lets you cover imperfections without looking covered up. It’s easily blendable and buildable, giving you even coverage with a luminous, demi-matte finish. Ultra-lightweight, this high-tech liquid formula never settles into fine lines, and it melds on for a no makeup look while full coverage in an instant. This concealer is enriched with Matrixyl 3000, which contains peptides to support the skin’s youthful appearance and elasticity, and Japanese green tea revitalizes and helps reduce the look of fine lines. It’s infused with Litchiderm™—derived from lychee fruit—which protects against dehydration, while sodium hyaluronate helps the skin attract and retain moisture, resulting in a brighter-looking complexion.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– ParabensWhat else you need to know:
Naked Skin Concealer comes in a range of meticulously calibrated shades that coordinate with Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Powder Foundation. The shade-matching system provides a clear starting point for finding your perfect shade: the first part represents shade intensity, and the second indicates shade undertone.Practical and travel-friendly, this formula comes in a gorgeous bottle that’s like a smaller version of Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Liquid Makeup component. The modern flocked applicator lays down just the right amount of product, and it’s soft enough to use on the delicate skin under the eyes.
Things to keep in mind as per Urban Decay: 1. A little goes a LONG way. 2. All Nighter Concealer is ultra-pigmented. So, when testing the product, swatch it on your skin, blend, and let it dry down completely to see the true color before choosing your perfect shade. If it’s a toss-up between two shades, go with the lighter one. 3. The long-lasting formula provides much higher coverage than Naked Skin Concealer. The pigment level is increased by 74% 4. There’s no need to build your coverage or apply multiple layers. 5. Always use All Nighter Concealer after you put on your foundation. Just apply a tiny amount and gently tap, tap, tap it into skin with your finger or they suggest using their UD Pro Concealer or Pro The Finger Brush {I’m sure you can use your own concealer brushes}
I’m missing two shades: Fair (Warm) and Medium Dark (Neutral).
Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer is SO AWESOME. I detected not a single lie in their long-lasting claims (then again, I wasn’t testing a concealer for 24 hours anyway, so there’s that…lol) but this stuff is seriously budge-proof and amazing. You have to like a matte finish though because these are MATTE. If you have a drier skin type or have very textured skin, you may not love these as much OR try using a moisturizing serum or more hydrating moisturizer along with it. But these things are damn near bulletproof. Like you apply it and dare that mess to come off…lol. Remember though as I have listed above, a LITTLE goes a LONG way. If you use too much, it might make the shade look off.
I don’t often use concealer aside from the ones I use to highlight (Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Golden) and the one I use under my brow bone (Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Chestnut). I usually find that the foundation I use is enough to cover the small dark spots on my forehead and chin (Cover FX Total Cover Cream or Cover FX Custom Cover Drops). But for the sake of reviewing these, I gave them a whirl.
Deep (Neutral) was the only shade that matched me well. Again, a little goes a long way because when I used too much it looked very orange. Do as UD suggests above. But Deep (Neutral) worked to slightly brighten and conceal my under eye area but also worked to cover the small dark spots on my forehead and chin (though it looked a bit orange on my chin area).
Picking a concealer shade depends on what you’re trying to conceal, the color of what you’re trying to conceal, and where you’re trying to conceal. Typically for darker skin tones, if you’re trying to cover darkness under the eyes, you want a concealer that is about a shade lighter than your overall skin tone AND that has a honey or orange undertone which helps to cancel out the darkness. You could also use a color corrector (remember that the darker your skin, the darker the honey or orange tone should be—so for instance, a light orange is doing NOTHING for someone my complexion) and then apply concealer or foundation on top of that, depending on the look you’re going for and how much needs to be covered. If you’re concealing something on your chin or forehead, you want to use something that’s about the color of the area—if you use something too light or too dark, it’ll just draw attention to the area instead of concealing it.
The lighter shades in the Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer were too light for me to use to highlight—plus I wouldn’t use a concealer like this to highlight anyway—these are best for simply concealing because they’re so pigmented. I also think there is room for more shades in between Deep (Neutral) and Extra Deep (Neutral)—there’s such a gap in between these two shades plus Deep (Neutral) can look so orange that many might only be able to use it to brighten the under eye area or shoot, maybe not even at all. For an example of a wider range of concealer shades, check out these swatches of the L.A. Girl concealers (and these Nicka K ones) I did about a year or so ago.

Bottom line: Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer is an awesome full-coverage concealer with a matte finish that will put in some major work. It can use at least like 3-4 more shades on the deeper end of the spectrum though. Remember to use very little and let the shade dry down first to ensure you have the right shade.

I love Urban Decay and haven’t tried the All Nighter Concealer because I’m married to my Tarte Shape Tape as I shared on Twitter. But I wear Urban’s foundation so I will give these a whirl. Thanks for the tips.

you’re welcome, Shantal!!!
Wow these ARE super matte! That dry down looks something serious lol. My skin is more on the dry side so I haven’t tried the All Nighter line just yet but the new concealers had me curious. I’m gonna have to try this in store to see how I like it. But the formula sounds great!
