This will be a short and sweet post (or at least I’ll try to make it short and sweet). So a few months ago I purged 40 pounds of makeup out of my makeup stash and showed you my SUPER downsized makeup stash. Since then I’ve only added a choice few items (some of them being products brands sent me that I wound up also finding useful for my personal makeup style) but I’ve been loving turning SO MANY new makeup purchases down and having a more paired down stash. This is of course NOT to say that I’m not buying new makeup. I’m just being way more reasonable with myself about how often I’ll used said new makeup purchase and making wiser purchasing decisions.
And you know what? I’m wearing WAY more makeup now and way more often. I have WAAAAAY less makeup than I’ve ever had, but now I’m wearing even more makeup than I ever did. And it’s because I can actually see everything I own in one shot and it forces me to branch out and do looks with colors that often got neglected because I would just do the same makeup looks out of habit and because I would use what I could quickly see.
I’m loving it, too. Why hadn’t I downsized sooner?!?!?!
Even with all the new makeup that gets sent to me, I’m still able to maintain a smaller stash. Unopened new makeup sent from PR gets donated or used in giveaways. Things that I’ve opened and swatched for reviews are given to family and friends. I do wind up keeping a few things if they fit into my stash, but I’m no longer keeping a ton of makeup like I used to.

I have way too much makeup! A few months ago I downsized too! What I have a lot of are eyeshadow pallets that I honestly don’t use often and you got me thinking it’s time to use it!
