Another day, another set of finished beauty products…lol.
Side note: if you’ve been noticing posts have been a little on the slow side these days, it’s because 1. it’s summer and I cannot keep myself indoors for too long…lol. I need all of this “being out” documented so when winter hits and I begin my hibernation, my friends can’t tell me I NEVER leave the house…lol. and 2. I’ve been trying to juggle uploading more to my Youtube channel. I remember when I used to think filming myself was going to be SO hard and although I’m not a pro, I ain’t doing too bad either…lol. “It always seems impossible until it’s done,” as Mandela says.
But although I realize there are people who read blogs and people who watch Youtube videos and there isn’t always an intersection between the two, I do hope you’ll not only subscribe to my channel, but sign up for notifications and bingewatch some videos when you can. I’d love the support :)
Now let’s get into this post…
I’ve finished some products recently and will share why they were good to the last drop. Now remember, as I’ve said in previous posts like this, just because I didn’t finish a product doesn’t mean it’s not a good product. I am a recovering beauty junkie so I would buy a LOT of stuff because I lacked self-control (haha) and I also get a ton of product in from brands so there are products that are amazing but that I don’t get around to finishing because either it’s not something I need to use daily or because I have a gazillion others like it. Let’s get into this post though…
Olay Luminous Micellar Water
Yes, I could talk about all the science behind what makes Olay Luminous Micellar Water so great (because having been to their HQ a number of times, I know how diligent they can be about developing product), but this is my hero because it has a pump…lol. I’m so happy I had another one waiting in the wings for me so I didn’t have to be without it when this one finished.
I especially like Olay Luminous Micellar Water as a second or third cleansing step when I’m wearing makeup and want to ensure I remove all traces of it especially around my edges. It’s especially important whenever my edges are laid to not be splashing a bunch of water near them, so micellar water comes very much in handy then, too.
Moroccanoil SPF 30 Sun Lotion Hydrating Sun Protection
This was recently sent to me and I LOOOOOOVE. I was surprised yet not surprised that I finished it so quickly. I love how easily it blends in with no residue and guuuurl, the smell is divine. It has a Tahitian vibe to it—like a nice mix of vanilla, brown sugar, and a touch of coconut.
Murad Oil Control Mattifier SPF 15 PA+++
This has been one of my long-time favorite summer moisturizers for my oily skin. It has a different texture than moist other moisturizers so if you’re not used to it, it might feel like paste—but that’s the mattifiers doing their job (to put it in laymen’s terms). Check out all my previous posts on it here.
I’ve used other moisturizers in between (i.e. Olay Luminous Whip with SPF 25, Murad Anti Aging Moisturizer, etc.) depending on weather, what my skin is doing, etc. Check out The Moisturizer Switch-Up How it Can Help Your Skin & Makeup for more info.
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Golden
I love a creamy concealer—they’re easy to manipulate, blend in well, and hold up on me throughout the day. I really love Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Golden for those reasons as well as because it’s a great color for me to highlight with (check out more posts on highlight and contour here). I usually buy them when Bobbi Brown has their Friends & Family sale, but got a good deal on replacements at Hautelook recently ($11.97 each from $27—they still have a few shades left–check it out here).
