(This was the ONLY picture I have from today where we’re all facing front)
I swear this will never get old for me even though I get super nervous before having to do these…lol. I was on New York Live this morning on NBC and I got to share some of my winter skin care tips thanks to Olay and Walgreens. Olay recently launched some brand new products (I’m OBSESSED with the Olay Energizing Mist Hydration Essence—I’ll be talking about that and more products soon—stay tuned) and I got to chat with hosts Jacque Reid and Sara Gore about that and why you might want to ditch sweaters this winter season. Plus I was in the same room with TONI BRAXTON!
I vlogged my experience so as soon as I can get some downtime I will edit and put it up on my Youtube channel—right now there’s a Sephora VIB Sale haul video for you to check out in the meantime.
This was too much fun and everyone behind the scenes were all so awesome. Press the blue play button to check out my segment below:

And check out my behind the scenes vlog here:
Now what I love about this whole entire experience is this isn’t my first time working with Olay and Walgreens on a TV segment and also not my first TV segment in general. I did one back in June on The Real and if you watched my vlog about it, you’ll see that I was SO NERVOUS and thought they wouldn’t use me again. Ha—look at me proving myself wrong. And if you look at this from the perspective of me building my blog, my social media presence, and brand relationships FROM NOTHING, it’s even more of a pinch-me moment. I remember waaaay back before I even started this blog when I was getting my Certificate in Image Consulting at FIT after I got my BBA in Marketing, I remember saying out loud in class that I wanted to be like the Oprah but in Image Consulting—you know, talking about fashion and beauty on TV and making an impact on people’s lives. I said that maybe in like 2006. I started my blog in 2007. While I’m not Oprah in the sense of having my own TV show (yet…haha) I am on the path to getting there. Things take time—they do not happen overnight like some folks on social media might make you think it does. I seriously cannot believe some of the amazing things I’ve been able to do because I started this blog and stayed consistent with it. Just ONE example: I had a dream back in the day that I wanted to write for magazines—I interviewed for an assistant job right after college—I SWORE I was perfect for the position and prayed so hard for it. I didn’t get it and was devastated. But then years later that magazine folded (yikes). And I eventually got my magazine bylines in Cosmo for Latinas, ESSENCE, Allure, Good Housekeeping, and more because of my work here on the blog. GUUUUURL, ya’ll gotta dream and believe and PUT IN THE WORK.
Anyway, let me get out of here because I just came back from being in Bentonville, Arkansas on a press trip and my office is a wreck from all the packages I got while I was away. Bentonville was awesome so look out for a post on that very soon ;)
