I love a good sleek eyeshadow palette that fits in with the decor of my makeup stash and can easily be transported just about anywhere. The NARS Skin Deep Palette definitely fits the bill in that way. It’s even small enough to fit in some of my purses. The shadow quality is nice and I didn’t experience any issues with wear.
BUT…
While I can create a number of pretty neutral eyeshadow looks with this palette (which runs on the cooler toned side), I don’t feel it’s an overall great value for deeper skin like mine. There are too many colors I wouldn’t use often and then the shades I would use often, I already have similar ones in my stash.
Now your stash may not look like mine and maybe you don’t have similar colors, but I still don’t love this for dark skin. It’s not that you *can’t* use some of these shades if you have a darker skin tone, it’s that there are palettes out there with better colors for darker skin. I wrote a post on some of my faves which you can check out here.
I do hope NARS comes out with a deeper version of this that better suits darker skin like they did with the Wanted II blush palette.

The color palette is so pretty. All of them seem to go well with your skin tone.
