Hey, party people! Yup, another QUICK concealer review—if you missed any or want to read more in-depth posts on concealers, go here.
YSL Touche Eclat is one of those iconic makeup staples that EVERYBODY and her mama gushed over, but we haven’t really seen it much on these beauty internet streets. It’s not exactly the first thing one picks up when doing a heavy highlight and contour—and that’s no shade, it’s just that trends shift. And while pretty, the original Touche Eclat didn’t provide much in terms of coverage. But you’ll be happy to know that there’s a new kid on the block: YSL Touche Eclat High Cover Radiant Concealer.
Official description:
What it is: A skin-loving brush concealer that brightens the under-eyes with natural, buildable, and weightless coverage.
Highlighted Ingredients:
– Caffeine and Ruscus Extract: Address under-eye puffiness and swelling.
– Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrates.
– Vitamin E and Calendula Extract: Provides rich antioxidant and soothing benefits to protect and care for delicate eye area.Ingredient Callouts: Free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, and phthalates.
What Else You Need to Know: YSL’s patented, secret Optical Brightening Technology is now available to tackle under-eye circles. Designed to address hereditary ones as well as those caused by fatigue, this formula reflects light away from the eyes to diffuse and color-correct darkness. The built-in brush applicator is perfect for applying and blending in the small eye area.
I really LOVE this concealer! I got shade #8 Ebony which is described as “very deep, neutral undertone.” My aim here with this concealer was to get something close to my complexion that could cover the discoloration I have under my eyes and this did exactly that (it’s described as neutral in undertone but had the right amount of red in it that I love for cancelling out discoloration). It also performs well with no creasing (holla!) and slightly brightens (so happy that the brightening wasn’t overpowering—just a nice subtle uptick). Now “high cover” is a subjective term and while this isn’t a FULL coverage concealer, it definitely provides more coverage than the original Touche Eclat.
I still stan for my Fenty Pro’Filtr Instant Retouch Concealer for my typical makeup looks to cover discoloration under my eyes (I also love NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for this as well), but if I were to simplify my makeup, YSL Touche Eclat High Cover Radiant Concealer would definitely be bae. It’s also a great concealer if you want to just add some concealer on your eyes before running errands. I considered keeping it for that, but I already know how I am—if I’m not wearing makeup, I’m not wearing ANY makeup…lol. I don’t mind people seeing my discoloration on my naked face (I just want it covered when I’m doing a full face of makeup).
