Yup—we’re already talking about winter nail colors. Sure, your nails are probably spending a considerable amount of time inside a pair of gloves as the weather dips, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t indulge in some of the season’s hottest shades!
Typically for winter, I’ll do an inky black or a chic navy blue hue on my nails, but I’m looking forward to switching things up a bit.
1. Essie Under Wraps
My heart skipped a beat when I saw this shade—the deep emerald green with the glitter feels like it would be a mini NYE celebration on your nails, but still subtle enough to wear it after the ball drops.
2. Chanel Le Vernis #622 Violet Piquant
This breathtaking blackened purple is the perfect topper for just about any winter look you throw at it. I would especially love this color paired with other bold colors. You can find out how to pair colors in your wardrobe in my Youtube video below—it works even for winter nail colors.
3. Mischo Beauty Sans Souci Nail Lacquer
Yes, another green with glitter, but this is different…lol. I love the warm olive green paired with rainbow, gold-ish glitter—it’s a fun combo that isn’t always expected for winter.
4. Sinful Colors Spring Fling
Although this shade has spring in the name, I definitely love this shade for the winter. I would especially love this grey-ish taupe shade with a tinge of lavender to be paired with a full winter white fashion look.
5. China Glaze China Rouge
For soooooo many years I have avoided red nail polish because as a child of the 80s, it REALLY reminded me of the 80s…lol. It just seemed like it’s for a very specific type of grown woman (think Jackée, Patti LaBelle, Angela Winbush, etc) and even though I’m knocking on 40’s door, I just don’t see myself as that type of grown woman…lol. But red lipstick—with an equal “specific type of grown woman” aesthetic—is my jam. So I decided to add this bold red to this list. Let’s see if I can roll with it. Is red one of your must-have winter nail colors?
I agree with you about that red; heck I’m 48 and don’t think I’m that grown of a woman to wear red nail polish. LOL. I am feeling that Spring Fling by Sinful Colors as well as the Mischo Beauty, will have to possibly pick them up. Thanks.?
I love the green shade of the Essie nail paint. The slight shiny metallic look. So pretty.
